OUR PORTFOLIO
DDP consultants have worked on multiple global health and development projects for various clients in over thirty countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North America.
We collaborate with a wide range of partners, including philanthropy organizations, international development agencies, non-profits, corporations, and government to offer advice and solutions. Whether the starting point of the project is the design of a program, the development of a strategy, an organisational transformation, or a new strategic advocacy model, we always take a systemic approach that is specifically tailored to each client’s requests, requirements, and organisational and cultural context.
Review of the BMGF Routine Immunization Investments in South Sudan Project
DDP conducted an independent review of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's (BMGF) 2018–2023 routine immunization (RI) investments in South Sudan. The purpose was to assess their impact on addressing challenges hindering RI performance and service delivery.
The review evaluated BMGF's RI Theory of Change (ToC) and investment approach, generating valuable insights into the relevance, complementarity, effectiveness, and overall impact of these investments.
Additionally, DDP revised BMGF’s ToC and investment strategy to guide future efforts in South Sudan. This process included extensive stakeholder engagement with Program Support Teams (PSTs) and key external actors such as the National Ministry of Health, Gavi, the World Bank, WHO, UNICEF, and AFENET, to ensure alignment and secure buy-in for the updated ToC.
Country Readiness Support for the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines (GPACCM)
DDP consultants supported the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines (GPACCM) to evaluate the Government of Zambia’s readiness to receive and manage childhood cancer medicines to be donated by the platform. This capacity support was carried out by evaluating Zambia’s medicines regulatory and governance framework and proposed actions for a seamless pre-market and post-market authorization for the donated products. We also conducted a readiness assessment of Zambia’s health supply chain system to effectively and safely manage donated platform products and recommended strengthening opportunities to address the gaps identified in the system.
Furthermore, we conducted a comparative analysis of cancer medicines distribution models and recommended the most appropriate model for adoption by the MoH. Our consultants are providing project management support for the execution of the supply chain management activities of Zambia's national implementation plan for deployment of the GPACCM products. We are also supporting the GPACCM to develop its market-shaping framework and product donation guidelines in preparation for scale up to other countries and products.
BMGF Development Policy and Finance Advocacy and Communications Strategy Support
Consultants from DDP led the development of DPAF’s advocacy and communications strategy with focus on development policy and finance reform efforts including multilateral development banks (MDBs) reforms, sustainable debt restructuring, climate finance, human capital, fiscal accountability, digital public infrastructures, and gender.
This work involved the review of current development finance perspectives, priorities, advocacy and comms tactics and documented emerging themes and considerations for BMGF’s future consideration. A partner mapping analysis was also conducted to document key advocacy and comms players, as well as identifying potential partners to advance existing and new investment priorities, and the facilitating the development of the DPAF advocacy and comms strategy. This project was executed as a sub‑contract of Global Health Visions.
BMGF Engagement Strategy for the World Bank Global Financing Facility
DDP facilitated the development of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s (BMGF’s) strategy to engage and fund the World Bank Global Financing Facility (GFF) to strengthen reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAH‑N) globally through a
collaborative process involving stakeholders from the Foundation’s global health agencies and funds (GHAF), program support, gender equality, and
program advocacy and communications teams. This project was executed as a sub‑contract of Global Health Visions.
BMGF WASH Policy and Communications Strategy Articulation
The documentation for BMGF’s water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) policy and advocacy strategy journey for better articulation of their efforts internally and externally was conducted by DDP consultants. This project was executed by gathering information and documentation of the strategic journey of BMGF’s WASH policy and advocacy efforts over the last five years. This further enabled us to also articulate the future strategic direction for BMGF’s WASH policy and advocacy portfolio for the next five years. This project was executed as a sub‑contract of Global Health Visions.
BMGF Women’s Health Country Proximal Support
DDP provided strategic investment support for the Gates Foundation PAC Women's Health team to facilitate the successful design and execution of initiatives to improve the adoption of high-impact FP and MNCH practices in Nigeria. The DDP team provided thought partnership support to the Foundation on the strategic refinement of their Women’s Health work in Nigeria taking into consideration new opportunities and platforms to leverage to achieve impact.
We also provided thought partnership support to the Foundation’s POs and grantees throughout the project life cycle of their grants/contracts, ensuring that investment objectives are met, and the quality of deliverables generated are at a high level. Our consultants supported the PAC MNCH team in the development and publication of a joint progress report on ENAP-EPMM initiatives in Nigeria, aimed at driving progress and coordinated action toward achieving targeted milestones. This project was executed as a sub‑contract of Global Health Visions
In-country vaccine supply chain strengthening for UNICEF
