Maruchi is a seasoned international development expert and management consultant who oversees DDP’s global portfolio of initiatives and collaborations. He has over 12 years of experience leading the design and implementation of global development programs at the intersection of global health and sustainability. Throughout his career, he has served as a trusted advisor to governments at the national and sub-national levels, global donor organizations, and international development partners on a variety of global development initiatives. He has a diverse background in global development issues such as immunization, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH), nutrition, Polio, COVID-19, Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Education, LMICs debt sustainability, and Climate Action.

Prior to co-founding DDP, he oversaw multimillion-dollar investments in system strengthening and performance improvement projects by the Government of Canada, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Gavi, US PEPFAR, and other donor and partner organizations. Most recently, he facilitated the development of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s (BMGF) strategy to engage and finance the World Bank Global Financing Facility (GFF) to strengthen global reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAH-N) through a collaborative process involving stakeholders from the Foundation’s program support, gender equity, and advocacy teams.

He previously coordinated the Government of Canada’s efforts to strengthen the Pan-Canadian public health supply chains for vaccines and other medical countermeasures at the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), steering federal, provincial/territorial, and industry stakeholders to develop a roadmap to strengthen the Pan-Canadian public health network for vaccines. Before joining PHAC, he coordinated Gavi and its Alliance supply chain partners to develop and implement the Gavi Alliance supply chain strategy in 68 supported countries, as well as to facilitate public health commodities integration alignment with the Global Fund, prior to joining PHAC. Earlier in his career, Maruchi led multiple education and global health projects in Nigeria for a variety of clients, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, for whom he provided project management support to successfully design and execute high-level innovative immunization and primary health care basket funding agreements with six Nigerian state governments.

He brings a wealth of experience from the non-profit, government, and private sectors, which he uses to facilitate the collaborative design and implementation of sustainable solutions for improved financing and delivery of social impact programs.

He has a Master of Science degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom, a Postgraduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management and Global Logistic from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology from the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria.
